The vision is for a different kind of congregation planted in the rapidly growing residential areas on the northern end of the Gold Coast. We have identified the area between the Nerang and Coomera rivers as a major geographical focus.
Here’s some of our rough thinking at the moment on our distinctive vision/mission focus:
People coming to know Christ
Groups that breathe life into people
Relationship built intentionally with Under 40’s
Being “Christ in the community”
Identify the “needs” of those in our community
Being intentional about forming relationships in the community - we don’t expect people to come to us
Meet where the people are - parks, bowls clubs, bowling alley, shopping malls.
Nurturing those who come
Make the most of passion for hospitality (Meals, barbecues)
Modelling a different way of being church
Any activity is church - small groups etc.
Making church exciting and/or different
Laid back - Reputation for being different / exciting / not ‘church’ as we know it
Identifying what we have to offer (Uniting Church but not typical)
